Usually now we just tether off our tesco mobile which is much better. What really irritates me is that it's completely impossible to speak to a rep or anyone at Vodafone about it. For that kind of money you'd at least expect to be able to express your frustration. But they'd rather everyone just left their poor reviews here I guess.
Reviewer Antonia. After researching the best options and then going into my local Vodafone store for advice, the Mifi mobile hot-spot device and Global Roaming Plus 5 GB of data sim card seemed like the best choice.
However, I only successfully got the device to work once during the 2 months I was away. The signal light was constantly on red and it always said there was no network on my device even when in city centres. I am aware that is the cost of the contract which I signed up but for this price I gained no service. I managed to send one email to a hotel about my stay! Every-time I had no wifi and needed directions, train timetables, use of google maps etc this is what I had bought the Mifi for!
I had to use mobile data on my phone instead not with Vodafone and that cost me a fortune - which was exactly what I was trying to avoid in the first place. Reviewer HarrowJ.
Comments Thought I got a good deal with Vodahone mobile broadband hub-Mifi. Advertised speeds of up to mbs. Took it to various places inside and outside - Nowhere near that - Best I ever got was 35 outside. It does not as advertised replace your fixed broadband. It is rarely about 8 mbs and often as low as 1. Absolute rubbish. If you see any good offers for - this walk on by! Reviewer Patsy. They lie, break consumer law, keep you on hold endlessly and have no clue how to resolve the problem. I paid an upfront fee and 3 weeks in have never had mobile broadband. They have no accountability. Do not consider using vodafone. Reviewer Dr JP. This was to use mainly abroad at our holiday home in continental Europe plus on other holidays. Unfortunately I soon realized that I was getting less than the half of the data amount I was paying for.
I understand that all other operators O2, Three etc clearly state that you can only use a proportion of you data allowance in EU mainland Vodafone kept saying that they were allowing me to use whole 30GB abroad which was not true.
The data were disappearing from my monthly allowance even if we were not switching the mifi device on Anyway I kept paying for this substandard service for the whole year and stopped my DD as soon as the contract expired. Called them 2 weeks later and was told tha they will still charge me for the whole month after the contact finished as I was supposed to give them 30 days notice.
Reviewer KSara. Comments I've had no end of problems, promises that engineers would come out, but the service doesn't improve, ridiculously long call wait timed. I've now had zero broadband for 36 hrs and have been waiting on the phone to speak to someone for 30 mins.
